GetCare Foundation Contributes to International Development Research Dialogue at EADI/IOB 2026
The GetCare Foundation is proud to announce its contribution to the global development research community through active participation in the EADI/IOB 2026 Conference, one of the leading international platforms for development studies, bringing together researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and institutions from around the world to explore contemporary development challenges and solutions. Representing the Foundation, Dr. Gyinadu Abubakar, Senior Policy and Research Advisor, presented a research paper titled "Trading Cocoa for Gold: Livelihood Shifts and Agrarian Change in Ghana." The paper examines the growing trend of cocoa farmers converting agricultural land into gold mining sites, analysing the economic, social, and environmental factors driving this transition and proposing practical pathways for balancing agricultural productivity with sustainable resource development.
