Transforming informal and vulnerable rural economies affecting over 1.3 billion people worldwide.

Overview

GetCare Foundation is a development organization that designs and operates rural economic transition systems for agricultural and resource-dependent communities across Africa. The Foundation works at the intersection of livelihoods, environmental restoration, and local enterprise development, supporting communities to move from informal survival economies into structured, market-linked, and climate-compatible production systems.

Its implementation model integrates five core components: community formalization, productivity improvement, market integration, local value creation, and alternative livelihood transition. Through this approach, GetCare enables smallholder farmers, extractive-affected communities, and rural youth to become legally recognized economic actors, improve land productivity, secure predictable incomes, and participate in sustainable value chains.

GetCare’s programs are financed through a blended model of grants, philanthropic capital, and private investment, enabling scalable, long-term, and sustainable impact.

A resilient world where communities thrive through sustainable food systems, restored ecosystems, and inclusive economic opportunities.
To strengthen communities and landscapes through regenerative rural systems, inclusive partnerships, sustainable agriculture, ecological restoration, and evidence-driven development approaches.
1. Sustainability: We are committed to environmentally responsible and climate-smart practices that restore ecosystems, enhance soil health, and safeguard natural resources for future generations.
2. Equity and Inclusion: We promote inclusive development by prioritizing women, youth, and underserved communities, ensuring equitable access to opportunities, resources, and economic participation.
3. Innovation: We embrace practical and forward-thinking solutions that advance agroforestry, reduce emissions, expand clean energy access, and transform agriculture into resilient and commercially viable systems.
4. Partnership and Accountability: We work collaboratively with communities, governments, private sector actors, and development partners, while upholding transparency, accountability, and measurable impact in all our interventions.
