Across Africa, smallholder farmers play a vital role in producing the food that sustains households and local communities. Yet many farming families continue to face challenges related to productivity, access to quality inputs and knowledge, household nutrition, and reliable income opportunities
GetCare Foundation works with smallholder farmers and farming communities to strengthen food and vegetable production while connecting agriculture more directly with nutrition, household income and resilient rural livelihoods.
Our approach supports farmers to improve production practices, diversify what they grow, strengthen access to knowledge and services, and increase the value households can derive from their farms. Vegetable production is particularly important because it can provide nutritious food for household consumption while creating opportunities for farmers to generate additional income from local markets.
Through our work, we seek to ensure that increased agricultural production translates into outcomes that matter at the household level: more nutritious diets, stronger incomes and greater economic resilience.
For GetCare Foundation, agriculture is not only about producing more. It is about enabling farming households to grow better food, nourish their families and build stronger livelihoods.
