Research, Evidence & Learning

Effective solutions to complex development challenges must be grounded in evidence. At GetCare Foundation, research plays a central role in informing our programs, refining implementation models, and generating practical knowledge that can guide sustainable agriculture, landscape restoration, and rural livelihood development across Africa.
Through partnerships with universities, research institutions, and field practitioners, we design and test innovative approaches that translate real-world experiences into actionable insights for communities, policymakers, and development partners.

How We Do It

We conduct applied research within real farming and rural livelihood systems to better understand the environmental, social, and economic dynamics shaping agricultural communities. Our field studies generate insights that guide the design of scalable and locally appropriate development interventions.
Before scaling new approaches, we test them through carefully designed pilot projects and field trials. These pilots allow us to evaluate innovative farming techniques, restoration models, and livelihood interventions under real-world conditions while identifying practical improvements for broader implementation.
To rigorously assess the effectiveness of our programs, we employ impact evaluation methodologies including quasi-experimental designs and randomized controlled trials (RCTs). These evaluations help us measure outcomes such as productivity improvements, income growth, ecological restoration, and community resilience.
Research findings are translated into publications, policy briefs, and learning reports that inform development practice and public policy. Through our Publications & Insights platform and strategic partnerships with research institutions, we contribute evidence that supports sustainable agriculture, restoration economies, and rural enterprise development.

PILOT, MEASURE, SCALE

We test innovative solutions through field pilots, rigorously measure their impact using evidence-based methods, and scale the most effective models to reach more communities.
